On January 10th 2022, a study published out of Oregon State University, found that, in a lab, two Cannabinoids, in this case CBDa and CBGa, Bind to the Sars CoV 2 (Covid-19) Spike Protein, and prevent it from entering Human Cells.

Shield-19 contains 4 Primary Components: CBD and CBDa, CBG and CBGa. The ‘a’ at the end of the compound name signifies Acid, so they are the acidic forms of CBD and CBG. They are evenly split four ways at 750mg each, and the remaining elements are the rest of the minor cannabinoids in the Full Spectrum extract.

ET of Cosmic Elements met with the researcher who published the study, Richard Van Breeman at OSU to discuss his findings. Let us give it to you straight (since most companies won’t) . While these compounds absolutely functioned as stated above, there still is not enough data to show exactly how effective it will be in real world use. However, based on how most products in the Cannabinoid space have proven themselves, there is good reason to believe that if one is taking these compounds as a daily supplement, to keep them running through the bloodstream, they should perform as they did in the lab. The Clinical trials will help determine whether the intake amount should be more, less or equal to what was used in the study. It could turn out to be that much less than what was used in the study will be sufficient for in vivo (internal consumption)…which has happened plenty of times before.

The great thing about Cannabinoids, including CBDa and CBGa, is that they have already been deemed safe for human consumption, show No harmful side affects At All (unlike prescription medications) and have No harmful interactions with any medications. As well we know that the human body has what’s called an Endocannabinoid System which means it is specifically designed to receive the compounds in Hemp and Cannabis. It should also be noted that this system has its foundations in the Central Nervous System and branches out to all of the Organs.

**In other studies, CBDa shows promise in the areas of Anti-inflammatory, Anti-nausea and Anti-convulsant among other things, and is highly bioavailable.

**In some basic studies done with CBGa, it was found to have promise in inhibiting Aldose Reductase, the enzyme most responsible for Stress and Cardiovascular(heart) illness. Other studies showed it may be effective against Colorectal Cancer as well as Metabolic Disorders. Larger studies are still needed for much of this to get to the next level.

Thankfully, not only might Shield-19 help with Covid, but with this grouping of other compounds, the potential benefits are many.
